A Day as Forensics & Litigation Support Advisor at Joanknecht

You start your day with a team meeting to discuss an investigative assignment. You highlight unusual financial flows and set out which documents and stakeholders should be examined. You then dive into the financial records of a company under suspicion of fraud: analyzing transactions, comparing invoices to contracts, and identifying irregularities or noteworthy patterns. Later that morning, you meet with a trustee to share your findings and advise on the next steps.

After the lunch with colleagues and a walk through the city center of Amsterdam, you turn your attention to a damage claim your client has filed against a counterparty. You work closely with the attorney to ensure the project runs smoothly. In your role as advisor, you define the key questions, plan the work, monitor progress, and make sure the team collaborates effectively to achieve the project goals. Throughout the process, you maintain close contact with the client to fully understand the case and collect the necessary evidence to support the claim. With a sharp eye for detail, you recognize when deeper analysis is required and ensure the right actions are taken without delay. At the end of the day, you finalize your findings, outline the next steps, and touch base with your team to keep everything moving forward. You wrap up the day knowing that tomorrow will look different, with new questions to answer and fresh complexities to untangle.

What do you bring? 

• A master’s degree in Accountancy or a related field, ideally with an RA title. 

• At least 5 years of relevant work experience. 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

• A genuine desire to develop both personally and professionally. 

• A results-oriented approach and the ability to achieve goals effectively. 

• Strong communication and writing skills (fluency in Dutch and English required).
